Create a Smile...

*This is my second post for the day... please click here to see my sneak peek of the New floral stamp set by The Alley Way Stamps and for info. on how you can WIN that set for yourself!

Hello! I'm back with a card I have created for a Guest Design Spot for the brand new stamp company known as Create A Smile!  The talented Christine Drogt is finally going to be releasing stamps of her own, and I am sooooo happy for her!  (Seriously her work is amazing!)  And her new stamps are going to be super cute... how can I tell?  Because she has some awesome Freebies for you to play with now!

Here is what I've created with some of them...

My first step in making this card was to color the monsters and sentiment in using various Copic Markers.  I then went back over them with white and black gel pens around the mouths and eyes.  Next came the fussy cutting ( I always find this so soothing!).  I created some party hats, because what good is a Birthday party without any party hats?!  I felt like these guys would kind of make a mess if they were the ones throwing a party, so that's where the messy ( and oh so fun ) background of splats came into the picture.  Add some sequins, foam adhesive and rhinestones... and viola!  It's a party fit for any monster!!!

And I just have to add... my children LOVED this little guy, they kept laughing and watching the fun colors I was putting on him. It was too cute!

I hope you take a moment to read more about this new company, and maybe even play with some of their freebies for yourself!

Thanks for visiting and have a monsterific day!!!  ( yeah, I so just went there! )

Late Night Posting

OK well, it isn't exactly late late, but much later than my typical posting time!  I made this card today based on several challenges and just had to share it right away...

Supplies Used:
Stamp, die and ink: Papertrey Ink
Gold foilcardstock
Gray Polka - dot washi
vellum
dots embossing folder

I have based this on the new challenge Never Before Used Stuff : I used this pretty purple PTI ink pad in Royal Velvet, which I have had for quite some time and can't believe I haven't used it!  What is wrong with me?!  Anywho, so glad this challenge made me realize it...

I have also based this on the Poppy Sketch Challenge: a touch of polk-a-dots

And finally it is based on the PTI: Make It Monday Vellum Overlay

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous evening!!!
Happy Crafting!

A Million Thanks... First Cut File

Happy Thursday!!!  I'm here with a card to share that is also up on The Alley Way Stamps Blog today! woo hoo!!!  I am also excited to share that I made my very first cut ever with my Silhouette SD using the new cut files available for purchase at The Alley Way Stamps Store!  I was so happy to find out that Alison was going to have cut files for all of the TAWS Stamps, and let me tell you... if I can do it ANYONE can do it!  It took me a few tries to figure everything out, but once I did it was like magic.  If you need help like I did on how to use these files here is a video I learned from, and here is another great video too.

Now onto my project for today...

Supplies I used:
Big Chatter Stamp Set
Big Chatter SVG
Fly By Stamp Set
PTI Inks
Recollections

I layered my cut several times for added dimension.  The butterflies were all stamped off once and then double and tripled stamped before re-inking for muted colors.

I am adding this to the following challenge:
Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

June PTI Blog Hop Card #2

I'm back.... with card #2 for the June PTI Blog Hop!  This card I based off of a different inspirational sketch they provided with the hop and created this...

Based on this sketch:
I didn't die cut or punch out my partial design like it suggests, but instead I masked off my Mega Mehndi image and embossed it.  I then added my sentiment from Text Style Building Blocks Stamp Set in StazOn.  I went over it with a paintbrush and water downed PTI inks.  I also flicked the colors all over too.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
Lisa

I am also adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge

June PTI - Blog Hop Card #1

Hello!  I am so happy that I was able to squeeze enough craft time in during nap time to be able to play along with this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  yay!!!  My blog post will be short, because the kids will be waking up soon, but here is card #1...

I based this on the banner sketch they had given for inspiration, and the colors are based on the ones in the picture of the room.  Instead of making triangles I found this image that gives a similar feel from the Mat Stack 5 Stamp Set and inked it in various PTI Ink colors.  I then added a sentiment from the Botanical Silhouettes Stamp Set.  I finished it with matching rhinestones.

I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes
and into the CAS on Sunday: Birthday Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
