Quaint Little Happy Birthday

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card I've made with lots of goodies from Butterfly Reflections Ink... I just love that store!  Not only does Vanessa keep it stocked with awesome new goodies, but she also has great customer service and super fast shipping!  Any who take a peek at what I've made...

To create this card I started by diecutting my selected patterned paper from the new My Minds Eye On Trend 2 6 x 6 paper pad with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Inside & Out Stitched Square Stax.  Next I layered them wonky and with foam adhesive for dimension.  I then used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Bold Greenery to place on either side of the frames.  I then used the Mint Owl Studio Scripty Sentiments Stamp Set for my sentiment along with Deep Sea Ink by Lawn Fawn.

I am also linking this up to the AAA Cards Birthday Challenge!  Happy Birthday AAA Cards!  Thank you for all of the inspiration!

May Pintrest Challenge with Essentials by Ellen

Woot woot!  I'm joining another challenge today: Essentials by Ellen May Pinterest Challenge...

And here is what I've created...

I loved the woodgrain background and the bright white heart so I mimicked this with the wood paper and the white embossing powder sentiment from the Fancy Thanks Essentials by Ellen Collection.  I then used the pink and salmon colors with a touch of gold foil.  I used MME On Trend patterned paper and the dies from the Wild Garden die set also a part of the Essentials by Ellen.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Hi!  I'm popping in this evening to share my quick one layer take on the May Papertrey Ink Blog Hop...

And here is what I created... please excuse the dark lighting as I wasn't able to photograph this card until after we got home from a late night of karate and shopping...

I used lots of Papertrey Ink goodies to create this card including: Beautiful Butterflies, Beautiful Butterflies Layers, and a mix of their inks corresponding with the inspirational photo.

You Nailed It...

Hello, hello!  Happy Wednesday!!!  Is life as crazy for you right now as it is for me?  Whew!  End of the school fun is also a lot of work hehehe!  Any who, today I am here and on the Mint Owl Studio Blog today sharing a super clean and simple card that would be great for any graduate, end of the school year pick me up, or just a way to go occasion...

To create this card I started by die cutting some frames in yellow and orange and adding them at opposite angles.  I then stamped my sentiment spaced apart with black ink from the new Under Construction Stamp Set.  Finally, I stamped and embossed the nail images with silver embossing powder.  Like I said super clean and simple, and sometimes that is all you need.

Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Smile with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card here and on the CAS-ual Fridays' Blog, woot woot!

To be honest I really wasn't sure where I was going with this card when I first started.  I knew I wanted to color something in and I knew I wanted to play with the leaf image from the Pretty Posies Stamp set, so I just went from there.  I stamped the leaf images in two lines on a white panel and began coloring them in a mix of purples, oranges, greens and yellows.  Next, I went through and trimmed just one of the edges of the leaves for both lines and just played around with where I wanted to place them on my cardbase.  Once I moved one to the top and one to the bottom of the card it hit me as perfect!  I then die cut my Smile, from the Smiling Fri-dies set, several times, once in each of the colors I had used on the leaf images.  I then layered them all up adhering them slightly to the right side so all of the colors would show.  My final touch was playing with the dot for the "i" and I decided to have them floating up like confetti, because that is what made me smile :).

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit me today! And if you need to pick up some goodies from CAS-ual Fridays for yourself I would be tickled if you used my discount code below!

Happy...

weekend!!! yay!!!!  Today I'm popping in to share a card I've created for the latest Winnie & Walter Rerun Challenge.  Now I don't happen to have the rerun stamp set they are featuring (Addie's Garden), but I do have the In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet stamp set and I was so inspired by Shay's gorgeous card that I had to play along...

To create this card I started by masking and stamping my flowers and leaves onto watercolor card stock.  I then used inks and a water brush to add colors to my flowers.  Next I trimmed just along the bottom edge of the stamped images.  I then layered this onto patterned paper, added a strip to go behind my diecut "happy" and ta-da!  I love the simplicity of this card while still playing with patterns and stamped images.

Here is Shay's gorgeous card that inspired mine...

Arrr... You're a Gem... Mint Owl Studio Release Day

Ahoy matey!!!  Today I'm sharing a card for the release day at Mint Owl Studio!!!! Woo hoo!!! Or should I say shiver me timber? haha!  Why all the pirate talk, you ask???  Check it out...

This set called A Pirates Life is so much fun and has lots of little images that are great to play around with and to let any little/big pirate know how awesome they are!  To create today's card I started by stamping the gems randomly onto watercolor card stock.  I then used my zig markers to loosely watercolor over them.  I then stamped my pirate chest onto separate yardstick, colored with my comics and added some glam with gold tickles.  The sentiment was stamped and colored in the right lower left of the card.  I finished it all off with some gold thread and clear sequins.

Can't wait to see what you will be creating with this new release! Check it all out at Mint Owl Studios today!

CAS Card Challenge with STAMPlorations

Hi!  It is reminder time for this month's CAS Card Challenge at STAMPlorations.. as always it is anything goes but with the twist of Magenta... I tried to get a magenta look with my card, but personally I feel like my pinks are too soft or something... either way I still had fun playing with my STAMPloration goodies...

To create this card I had fun with the Balloons and Banners Stamp set and turned the images into a flower! :)  I started by stamping the heart balloon several times in a circle, I then used a balloon string as the stem and a heart image for the leaf.  Next I colored everything in with Copics.  I really like the way it turned out, and it's another fun/unique way to use these images.  I then used the Happy Sunflower stamp set to create my sentiment.  Finally the background was created using the Just Squares Stencil.  I finished the whole thing off with clear sequins.

Sneak Peek With Mint Owl Studio

Hello, and yay!!!  It is sneaky peeky time with Mint Owl Studio and I am up today sharing this light fluttery card made with the new Butterfly Kisses Stamp Set and the newly released Mixed Triangles Stencil...

To create this card I started by going over my stencil with various distress inks.  I then stamped, colored and trimmed my butterfly stamp twice with the same Copic markers.  I then trimmed them both out and went over the edges with a black Memento marker.  I adhered only the wing of the second image onto the first for dimention, as seen in the second picture.  I die cut a heart from vellum, stamped and embossed the sentiment onto black card stock.  I finished it off with some sequins in the Electric Sequin Mix.

I am linking this up to the Ellibelle's Critters and Creatures Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by and heck out the Mint Studio Blog for the full stamp reveal!

Callin' All Sistahs Monthly Blog Hop!!!

Hello!  I'm so excited to be a part of this amazing hop that Michele Gross puts together every month. Not only is it filled with fun, inspiration, and giveaways but it is also filled with awareness and a reminder that we all need to do our self examinations every month.

Now before I share my card I wanted to share a few fun facts about this hop... 50% of the profits from Callin' All Sistahs is donated to National Breast Cancer Foundation.  Totally AWESOME!!!  Second at the end of the hop you can find out how you can join us in next months blog hop.  And finally 3 lucky commenters from this hop will be winners, woot woot!

Ok, now onto my card for the blog hop...

To create this card I started with a white panel, I then stamped my ribbon image from the Hope Ribbon Stamp set three times starting with the lightest ink and stamping the hole image, then I used the medium pink and stamped 3/4's of the way up, and finally I inked the bottom on the ribbon with the darkest pink.  It should also be said that I used my Misti to make this layered inking possible.  I then stamped my sentiment along the bottom.  Next I laid the Hope Die Set over the center of the ribbon image and diecut it out.  I added a light pink paper behind the negative of the cut behind the stamped panel.  I then layered the positive cut slightly at an angle.  I then popped this whole panel onto some dark pink and acetate/foil card stock.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, and hopefully it also reminded you to take some time and do your self examination.  From here you should hop along to the lovely Lydia Evans' Blog for more inspiration and another chance to win some goodies!  If you stumbled upon this blog hop then make sure you start from the beginning at the CAS-ual Friday's Blog for full details on how this hop works!

Thanks for Helping Me Grow...

Hi!  Today you will find me sharing this lovely card here and on the Mint Owl Studio Blog... I just adore the floral images in the Love for Mom Set and had fun doing a little tone on tone stamping with highlights...

To create this card I started by stamping a few flowers and masking as I moved along.  I then added some highlights with my white Prisma Colored Pencil.  I finished it off by die cutting the panel and adhering it to a white card base.  While this is a simple card I love the softness of the tone on tone and coloring only in white.

I am entering this into the Everybody Art Challenge: Flowers and into the Try Stamping' or Not on Tuesday: Sketch

And finally into the Simon Says Stamp: Flowers Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

You Are Terrific CAS-ual Fridays!

Hello and guess what?!  Today I'm a Girl Friday, posting on the CAS-ual Friday's Blog, and it's Friday.... say what?!!!! :)  I'm so excited to be sharing this new card that I've created with the newly released Pretty Posies Stamp and Dies!  Today I'm sharing the versatility of the dies, as they don't have to be used with the stamps and can hold their own as the stars of the show...

To create this card I started by adding distress inks to a piece of white card stock.  I then lined up my floral dies where I had laid down my ink and ran in through my die cutting machine.  I could have added the color after I die cut, but I thought it would be less messy on the hands doing it in this order.  Next I added some black stickles to the center of the each of the flowers and set them to the side.  I then took my patterned paper and adhered it to a black panel, using the floral cuts to line up my sentiment.  Finally I adhered the flowers and leaves adding the yellow flower last with foam adhesive.

I'm so happy with the bright and bold colors and hope you like it too!

Stronger Than You Think - STAMPlorations CAS Challenge

Hello again!  Scroll down if you are looking for my Mint Owl Studio Blog, it's a fun one!  I'm back again today with a card for the new monthly CAS Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog.  This time we are giving you the optional twist of using the color Magenta...

(grrr for lots of rainy days and dark photos!  Sorry!)
This card was created with the ARTplorations Stencil - Happy Flowers, white embossing paste, and the STAMPlorations Stamp Set - Fond Expressions 2.  I added my magenta with ink and a silk ribbon.  Since the florals on the stencil are so tall I didn't want to cut them down so I opted for a tall and skinny cardbase.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create for the challenge!

Melting For You

Hi!  Today I'm getting all mushy here and on the Mint Owl Studio Blog with their new Ice Scream, You Scream Set and a new to me technique that I've learned while taking the latest Online Card Class...

Isn't that vellum super fun?  I thought it worked perfectly with the melting popsicles and sentiment!  I can't give away all of the secrets as this class is still currently running, but I started by stamping my popsicles on the card front in black ink.  I then added the color to my vellum panel, stamped the sentiment onto a different yardstick, trimmed, and adhered the vellum and sentiment with staples.  I then finished it off with some fun sequins from the Electric Sequin Mix ( pssst - the sequins are discontinuing so make sure to grab yours before they are gone! ) with mini glue dots.

I am linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
