His and Her Gift Card Holders with Mint Owl Studio

Hello, Hello! Did you have a lovely Holiday or get some fun shopping done this weekend?  I sure did!  I don't know about you, but I tend to have quite a few gift cards to give out during the Holidays and I always want something cute to give them in, so the recipient still feels like they have something to open, you know what I mean?  And I think these little guys are just the thing...

To decorate my gift card holders I used the Packaged Pretty Die Set for the front with Fancy Pants Patterned Paper.

For the back of my gift card holders I used the Mini Banner Die Set and adhered them on their side before stamping my sentiments from the Banner Sentiments 2 Stamp Set.

Yes, this is a super easy project, but isn't that just what we need during the Holidays when we can't seem to find enough time for anything?  Love it!

Happy crafting and thanks so much for stopping by!

Peace, Love, Joy and the 25 Days of Tags!

Hello!  I am back and participating in todays showcase of tags hosted by the incredible Tracey McNeely from In My Creative Opinion!  Yes, I know today is day 26, but there were so many wonderful days of inspiration we couldn't help but add one more to feature STAMP-lorations goodies.  Take a peek at what I'm sharing...

To create my tag I used the Holly Background Mini ARTplorations Stencil and Copic® Markers.  I am so excited with how this background came out.  Now word to the wise, this could cause some staining to your stencil when using Copic Markers, but the stencil is still useable so I will def. be using this technique again.  The tag itself was cut from the Luggage Tags Nesting Dies, and the sentiment was cut twice from the Peace Love Joy Phrase Die.  I finished the hole tag off with some black twine and gold thread.

Make sure you hop over to Tracey's Blog for more inspiration and another chance to win some amazing prizes!
Happy Crafting!

Holiday Greetings: Embossing Fun!

Hello!  Today you will find me on the Mint Owl Studio Blog sharing a fun mix of embossing on a lovely Holiday card...

To create this card I started by laying the Christmas Quilt Stencil over Black cardstock and applying versa mark ink.  I then lifted the stencil and added some Wow! Embossing Powder in Cha Cha Cha. After this was heat set I adhered it to a panel of gold foil cardstock.  Next I stamped and embossed both the bird and sentiment from the Cardinal Greetings Stamp Set with a gold embossing powder.  I then adhered these to my card and ta da!

These are not typical colors I think of when creating Christmas cards, but I think it works well and really creates a rich look.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

25 Tags of Christmas

Hello!  Have you seen the awesome 25 Tags of Christmas even hosted by the amazing Tracey from In My Creative Opinion?  If not you need to hop over there quick!  I love when she hosts this event every year, the inspiration is incredible!  Today she is featuring Mint Owl Studio, and I've created a tag to share too...

To create this tag I started by die cutting the tag shape and square from a Pretty Pink Posh die set.  Next I stamped the sentiment from the Away In A Manger Stamp Set with versa fine ink onto the banner cut and added some blue distress ink at the bottom to create an ombre effect.  Next I stamped and watercolored the baby Jesus image with distress inks.  Very easy, but I love the results, and easy tags are a must when the Holidays are always so busy for so many of us.

Can't wait to see what you create for the 25 Days of Tags!

Naughty or Nice?

Hello, and Happy Saturday!  I am here and on the Mint Owl Studio Blog today sharing a cute little Santa Gift Tag...

This tag was created using the Dear Santa Stamp Set, isn't this round little Santa too cute?!  You have to see the reindeer in this set too!  I started by die cutting the shape to my tag.  Next I stamped the images and sentiment with Memento ink and colored them in with Prismacolor pencils.  I then added some dots in a white enamel gel, that unfortunately turned clear, but I still like the look of the texture.  To finish the tag off I used red and green twine.

I am linking this up to the 25 days of Christmas tags hosted by the amazing Tracey McNeely, I just love this event and make sure you check out her blog every day for more inspiration.

Happy Crafting!

STAMPlorations CAS Challenge Reminder

Hello!  It is time to send out a little reminder about this month's STAMPlorations Clean and Simple Challenge with the twist to use the color purple.  I've created a second card to inspire you to join us for this month's challenge:

To create this card I started with a Strathmore Watercolor Card 140#.  I then adhered the Peony.1 ARTploration Stencil and spritzed with a purple ink spray.  I then removed the mask, cleaned it and allowed the area to dry.  Now some of the areas did get color under the stencil, so to help define the floral image itself I went in with some Prismacolor Pencils.  This gave me a much harsher look than what I had initially intended.  But there was no way I was throwing this card away, so I put on my thinking cap and vellum immediately popped in my brain.  I then added a layer of vellum over the floral image, and I love it!  Vellum for the save!  I then stamped my sentiment from the Blooming Buds Stamp Set onto the vellum with black STAZ ON ink.  Once this had dried I added some pearls as embellishments, but also as a way to hide the adhesive to adhere the vellum onto the cardbase.

Thanks so much for stopping by and can't wait to see what you create!

Heartfelt Thanks with MarkerPOP

Hello!  It is time for a new MarkerPOP Bi-monthly Challenge!  Yay!!!  Take a look at the pretty graphic we have for you too...

You can take inspiration from the colors, the design layout or simply make a Thank you card as I have done...

To create this card I started by die cutting the Stepping Up Chevron Die by My Favorite Things with my Lawn Fawn Beachside Petite Paper Pack and glued them down the side of my card front.  I stamped my sentiment in the lower right hand corner from the Peonies Stamp Set by Avery Elle.  I also used this stamp set for my peonies and leaf images.  These images were stamped on a separate piece of white cardstock and colored in with my Copic Markers (R20, R32, R35, G24, G46).  These were then added to my card, and ta-da!  Of course I need a little sparkle and that's where my Pretty Pink Posh Sequins saved the day (Sparkling Clear, and Gold).

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

DCWV & Eileen Hull Blog Hop!!!

Hello!!!  I am so excited to be taking part in the DCWV & Eileen Hull Blog Hop!  This is Day 2 of the hop and you won't want to miss a thing I tell ya!  We will be hopping all month long on Fridays so make sure you head to the DCWV blog for more details and inspiration!!!

Now onto my projects, yay!!!

Let me just say these projects came together super quick and easy thanks to the amazing new DIY Project Stack: Gift Decor available at your Michaels Stores and the awesome Eileen Hull Twist and Style Tool.  The stack comes with everything you need to make sure cute gift bags, boxes, tags, and embellishments!  And to top it off they all have some form of gold, silver or bronze foiling! (Yes, you can start drooling now paper fans!)  Another amazing fact about this stack is that everything is pre-cut for you, all you are doing is seriously popping your box/tag/bag out and adhering it together with adhesive.  You've gotta love that!

Once I had created my chosen gift boxes/bag I used the Eileen Hull Twist and Style Tool to twist up some wire, which I then decorated with a mix of Bluemoon Beads, charms, and some jingle bells.  I also used the tool with some twine for my other box and I love how cool this looks, especially when using more than one color.  Here are some close ups of each project individually...

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and don't forget to hop over to the DCWV Blog for more details about this hop!

TAGplorations with STAMPlorations!!!!

Hello, and welcome to the first ever TAGplorations event hosted by the amazing Shery owner and designer of STAMPlorations, yay!!!!!!  The STAMPlorations DT and Guest Designers are hopping along sharing a plethora of tags to inspire, wow, and enable you hehehe with some of the amazing STAMPloration products.

I have created 3 very easy and quick tags that can be re-created in minutes, which is also perfect for any mass producing that may be needed.  I never have much time during the Holidays, but I LOVE being able to add simple handmade touches like tags to my presents and hopefully you will find these are easy to squeeze into your busy schedules as well...

Each tag uses a different technique too just to keep things interesting!  Here are some individual shots and a listing of techniques used...

This tag was created with the Holly Background Mini - ARTplorations stencil and Texture Luxe Paste onto a shiny red card stock.  I then die cut a second tag out of silver glitter card stock and adhered it at an angle behind it.  The sentiment was stamped from the  Oh, Christmas Tree Stamp Set trimmed and adhered at the top.  Trick: Wait until the paste is still slightly damp to add other layers or sequins, this alleviates the need for adhesive.  The top of the tag was finished with twine.

This next tag required basic stamping, coloring and embossing before being tied off with ribbon and twine.  Both the flower and sentiment come from the Holiday Sketches: Christmas Flower Stamp Set.

And finally for my third card I played off the artsy feel of the Christmas tree.  I stamped the tree and sentiment first with a water resistant ink and then simply splattered several colors onto the background before adding some shine with stickles! :)  I added the twine this time with a small staple.  The tree image and sentiment both are from the  Oh, Christmas Tree Stamp Set .

I hope I've inspired you to create a few tags of your own, and if you do make sure you link them up for a chance to win some prizes on the STAMPlorations Blog!!! woot woot!

Peace on Earth... STAMPlorations

Today beings a new CAS Challenge on the STAMPlorations Blog and this month we are challenging you to incorporate the color purple.  This is just an optional twist, but I always love the color twist in this challenge, so here is what I've created...

To create this card I used the Holiday Sketches: Christmas Flower Stamp Set to stamp and watercolor.  I then die cut the panel with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangles die set.  Super simple, but sometimes that's what CAS is!

I am linking this up to the 30 day Challenge over on The Daily Marker Blog, yay!

Can not wait to see what you will create for this challenge!
